Michael Carrick gave his detractors extra cannon-fodder in the 35th minute, the midfielder got dizzy going nowhere in the centre of the park and after he pass was intercepted by Dominguez the ball ran to Pablo Hernandez who powered his shot past Amos.
In the 65th minute United equalised in a brilliant back-to-front move that ended with Anderson stroking in the leveller from close range.

Twente conspired to score one of the all-time great Champions League�s own goal to gift Tottenham the lead, defender Peter Wisgerhof scooped a simple pass back to keeper Sander Boschker that the hapless goalie completely missed and the ball trickled in the net. Twente levelled in the 26th minute when they won a harsh penalty after Benoit Assou-Ekotto raised his arm to elbow Roberto Rosales�s fierce drive and Denny Landzaat converted from the spot.
Immediately after the restart Spurs retook the lead when a Bale cross fell to Lennon, he slipped a sweet reverse pass to Jermain Defoe and the hitman smashed in a second. Twente hit back in the 57th minute when Theo Janssen delivered a great cross from the left and Roberto Rosales planted a booming header past Gomes. But Spurs refused to be pegged back and took the lead for a third time in the 61st minute as Palacios won the ball in midfielder, fired on target and watched on as Jermain Defoe mopped up the rebound. But back came Twente (!) as Nacer Chadli curled in a stunning free-kick to level the match 3-3.
